Daisy Chain Nursery - Terms & Conditions

Age of Admittance

Daisy Chain caters for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.

Opening Hours

Monday to Friday - 8.00am to 6.00pm

  • Full time: Children will be accepted from 8.00 onwards and must be collected by 18.00 hrs.
  • Part time (morning): Children will be accepted from 8.00 onwards and must be collected by 13.00hrs.
  • Part time (afternoon): children will be accepted from 13.00 onwards and must be collected by 18.00 hrs.

Each session includes a morning snack and an afternoon snack if required. Children staying all day must bring a packed lunch and if required, a snack tea to eat in the evening. Meal times are as follows:

  • Morning Snack: 9.30am to 10.15am
  • Lunch: 11.30am to 12.45pm
  • Tea: 15.30pm to 16.30pm


A non-refundable administration fee of 25 places your child on the waiting list.

When a start date has been confirmed, parents will be invoiced for the first months fees four month's prior to your child starting nursery. This payment is to reserve your nursery place and is non-refundable, irrespective of any reductions to days made before your child starts/or in the event of you no longer requiring the place.

Once days have been booked, it will not be possible to swap one day for another, however additional days may be available if required, after checking at the office.


Fees are reviewed annually in April.The current fees for 2018-2019 are:

Under 2yrs

  • Full day: 51.50
  • Half day: 31.50

Over 2yrs

  • Full day: 48.50
  • Half day: 30.50

Please note: There is a 5% discount on full time attendance for both Under 2's and Over 2's.

Fees are to be paid by the 1st of the month, payable one month in advance. Fees are calculated on a 51 week year to make an allowance towards bank holidays and the Christmas holiday.

Should your child be absent from the Nursery due to illness then the fees payable will be as follows:

Illness: Full fees payable for up to two weeks, thereafter, half fees up to two weeks, thereafter full fees payable.

Holidays: No additional allowance is given for children taking holidays, as staff salaries still need to be paid.

Staff Employment

It is part of our terms and conditions that parents should not approach staff to carry out full time childcare in respect of any child on the nursery register or any child who has been on the register at any time during the six months previous to the date of their providing such childcare at Daisy Chain.

Notice of Leaving

We require 4 weeks written notice of your intention to withdraw your child from the Nursery or to increase or reduce their hours. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in full fees being payable. Once 4 weeks notice is given no reduction on the grounds of illness can be claimed.

Late Collections

For those parents/carers who are habitually late collecting their child, management reserves the right to make an additional charge of 15 per half hour or part thereof. Please note the morning session finishes at 1pm.

If another person is to collect your child from the nursery, staff must be informed in advance, and a photograph or security password supplied.

Notice of Variation

The management reserves the right to give 4 weeks written notice to terminate or vary the conditions of this contract.

Nursery Closures

Although extremely unlikely, should the nursery be forced to close due to severe weather conditions or emergencies affecting the premises, no refunds will be given, as staff salaries, business rates etc still have to be paid.


Please notify the Nursery as soon as possible if your child will not be attending due to illness or other absence.

Any child with a doubtful rash, discharge from eyes, diarrhoea or high temperature should not be brought to the Nursery and if any of these symptoms occurs whilst the child is in the Nursery, every effort will be made to contact the parent/carer and the child sent home if necessary. The Management has the right to refuse a child entry into the Nursery if they show any signs of the above.

If a parent requires medicines to be administered to their child, then a member of staff must be informed and the correct Nursery procedure followed.

We reserve the right to have a child transported, when necessary, to hospital. Nursery will do it's best to contact parents/carers/emergency contacts immediately, should this occur.


During a child's early years they invariably sustain knocks etc. from play or other children.

The staff of Daisy Chain will endeavour to minimise these accidents but cannot accept responsibility for accident, injury or infection from other children.

Clothing and Personal Property/Baby Milk and Baby Food

All children will require a change of clothing, clearly marked with the child's name, in case of emergency.

All disposable nappies, creams etc will be provided from our own Nursery supplies. There will be a small pro-rata charge of 50p per day to cover the cost of this service.

Baby Milk and Baby Food should be provided by the parent.

Children should wear suitable clothing and footwear (clearly labelled). Children will have access to supervised outdoor play, whenever appropriate, throughout the day.

Daisy Chain cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of any personal property left at the Nursery.

Children should not bring sweets, crisps etc or money into the Nursery. However they may bring comforters if required.

In the interests of safety, jewellery should not be worn. Children who have pierced ears may wear studs.

The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove a child from the Nursery at their discretion.
