Government Funding at Daisy Chain

Government funding is available (for eligible working families) from the term after your child reaches the age of 9 months, through to them leaving to start school. This funding provides hours over 38 weeks (term time only) that can be used to reduce your nursery fees. Because we are open 51 weeks, we stretch the 38 weeks funding over 51 weeks so that parents pay a reduced fixed amount every month.

What does Government funding cover?

Government funding provides 15 or 30 hours per week of high quality childcare. The funding does not cover food, consumables, enhancements to our provision or any additional hours that your child attends with us. We make a charge for these additional services and activities. Universal Credit

Visit https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit to find out if you are eligible to claim universal credit, and potentially claim up to 85% towards childcare costs.

Under 2’s and 2yr Olds

Some 9 month olds and 2 year olds are eligible to claim 30 hours of childcare/nursery education for 38 weeks of the year. This funding is available the term after your child turns 9 months or 2 years. Please note, this funding is only available to parents who meet the government’s eligibility criteria. 3 and 4 year Olds

From the age of 3 years, all children qualify for universal funding which covers 15 hours per week over 38 weeks a year. To be eligible for the extra 15 hours (totalling 30 hours) you must meet the Government’s criteria mentioned above.

Funding Renewal

Once you have received your funding code (all age groups) you must make sure that you renew your eligibility code every three months. This confirms that you continue to be eligible to receive funding every term. Failure to renew your eligibility will result in loss of your funding for that term, and the need for you to re-apply.
